Heading into the third round of the 2011 Monster Energy Super X series, the weather finally cooperated as many had hoped it would; clear skies, beautiful sunshine, and perfect temperatures. The first two rounds saw quite a bit of rainfall and muddy race conditions, but that was about to change in Campbelltown, which ultimately lead itself to an amazing night of racing amongst every single class that lined the gate.
Lites Breakdown:
After a perfect season thus far, JDR Motorex KTM's Matt Moss was looking strong and confident heading into the three main events on Saturday evening, but a poor start in moto 1 was just the beginning of a not-so-good night for the Australian stud. However, Matt's fault was another mans pleasure, and he allowed fellow JDR teammate Brenden Harrison to take his first ever moto win, and by the end of the night, his first overall of his career. With 4-1-3 moto scores, an ecstatic Harrison stood atop the podium over Carlton Dry Honda's Gavin Faith and Serco Yoshimura Yamaha's Luke Styke.
But speaking of Gavin Faith, the American transplant hadn't quite turned the results he was expecting in the first two rounds, but was quite eager to prove himself in Campbelltown, especially in the dry conditions. And he did just that, albeit with a few little mishaps along the way. He was able to take the very first lites moto win of the night, and while leading moto two crashed. He was able to rebound for eighth, and furthermore second in the final moto for second overall on the night. This was exactly the performance the young American rider was looking for. Faith now sits fifth in points, a total of 19 behind points leader Matt Moss who would finish fourth overall.

Pro Open Breakdown:
The #2 CDR Rockstar Energy Drink Yamaha ride of Jay Marmont was possessed on Saturday. All throughout practice, the older Marmont brother was laying down laps and jumping sections no one else would touch. He was able to carry that momentum into the triple header main event and accomplish a goal he's been trying to achieve, an overall victory in the Pro Open class. 2-1-1 moto scores led Jay to a convincing win and set the speed for what is now expected on a dry supercross track.
Another first time moto winner, Lawson Bopping would take home the honors in the very first Open Pro moto of the night and after a 1-5-2 moto tally would round out the night in a solid second place overall. Tye Simmons, who had a rather consistent night would end up on the final step of the podium. With two rounds left, the JDR Motorex KTM of Simmonds sits only 1 point in the lead of the championship hunt. Something he's going to have to work quite hard to keep.
