Out with the old and in with the new.
The 17-round 2027 Monster Energy Supercross season begins January 9 in Anaheim and concludes May 15th in Salt Lake City. Today's release of the much-anticipated schedule features many of the familiar racing locations we've come to expect over the years, but also introduces two new venues.
Supercross wouldn't be Supercross without the opening round at Angel Stadium and of course two weeks later back to Anaheim for Round 3. San Diego hosts Round 2 and a trek west for the first Texas stop but not Houston, instead in San Antonio.
Gates drop for the first time ever at the Alamodome at least in terms of hosting an AMA Supercross race. The Alamodome previously hosted a round of the 4-round International Supercross Series in 1996 when Brian Swink won the 250 class and Mike Brown the 125 class. The super safe city of Baltimore (sarcastic face emoji) also gets a round for the first time which participates as part of a lengthy East Coast swing starting in Foxborough for Round 11 on April 3, Baltimore April 10 at M&T Bank Stadium, April 17th where the New York Jets tend to lose and finally to Pittsburgh on April 24 at Acrisure Stadium.
No, Glen Helen! Oh, sorry wrong schedule. But don't expect Glen Helen to return for Outdoors so stop asking and pretending it might happen. (Check out the 2027 Motocross Schedule.) Denver, as usual, gets the penultimate round, with the finale at Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake Citywhich, I might be in the minority on this, has taken the mantle from Las Vegas as the ideal final-round stop.
No Eli Tomac! This is true and we will not see him race Daytona on March 6. Forget it. I'm out. Round 11 in rainy Seattle on March 20 precedes the only weekend off for riders. Lastly, the East/West Showdowns happen in Glendale (Feb. 13), Pittsburgh (Apr. 24) and Salt Lake City (May 15). Also, two breaks this year: March 27 after Seattle and April 30 after Pittsburgh. Triple Crown event dates forthcoming.
The three-round SuperMotocross playoff dates take place September 11, 18 and 25 with locations TBA but we know Thunder Ridge Nature Arena in Ridgedale, MO has a four year contract so assume a stop there and likely hosting the finale as it did this year. Expect the full SMX locations announcement for 2027 in January.
