The 2025 KingQuad 750AXi is electronically fuel-injected, and that determines the hose you order, the tools you need, and the sequence you follow. Approaching it like an older carbureted utility quad will cost you a soaked garage floor and a wasted afternoon.
Reading the Fuel System on This 750
The AXi suffix is Suzuki's marker for electronic fuel injection on the 722cc single. There is no petcock beneath the tank, no gravity feed to the engine, and no float bowl anywhere in the fuel path. An electric pump sits submerged inside the tank and delivers gasoline to the throttle body through a hose held at regulated pressure whenever the ignition is on. Meaningful residual pressure stays in that hose after shutdown, which is why the removal procedure starts with an electrical step.
Order hose rated for injection pressure rather than general-purpose low-pressure carburetor line, and match the factory inside diameter exactly. Undersized hose will not seat properly on the barbs and oversized hose will not seal under a clamp, and both problems show up as a slow weep weeks later rather than on the day you install them.
How Fuel Hose Deteriorates Over Time
Rubber owes its flexibility to plasticizer compounds that gradually leave the material as heat cycles work on it. Enough warm-ups and cool-downs turn a soft, squeezable hose into something stiff and faintly glassy. Because the stiffened wall can no longer flex with the frame, vibration from working terrain opens hairline splits at each bend and drives them deeper with every ride.
Environment and fuel chemistry both push the process along. Dry, high-elevation air draws residual moisture out of the hose and hardens it well ahead of the schedule a rider in humid conditions would experience. Ethanol works the opposite direction. - Fine cracking, chalky surface bloom, or a section of hose that stays rigid when pinched hard
- Bogging under load, hesitation on a snapped throttle, or the engine behaving as though the tank is nearly dry
- Dust clinging to a wet band around a fitting, which reveals a slow weep that keeps evaporating
A pressurized circuit tends to atomize small leaks into a mist that disappears before it can drip. That makes a persistent smell over a dry floor one of the more reliable indicators you have, not something to dismiss.
What to Have on Hand and How to Stay Safe
- Nitrile or rubber gloves and eye protection
- A shallow drain pan and a sealed container rated for gasoline
- Injection-rated replacement hose in the original inside diameter
- New clamps of the correct style, plus a quick-connect release tool if a locking coupler is fitted at the tank

Take the ventilation piece seriously. Relieving Pressure and Extracting the Line
Pull the fuel pump fuse or unplug its relay, then crank the starter until the engine stumbles and quits on the fuel remaining in the rail. Switch the key off and disconnect the negative battery cable. The circuit is now inert.
Lift the seat and remove the front fender sections and side panels blocking the tank outlet and the hose run to the throttle body. Slide your pan into position and drape a rag over the first fitting you open, because even a relieved hose holds fuel that will run out the instant it separates.
Slide clamps well back along the hose before disturbing the joint.
