Removal Without a Mess

If the hose has bonded to a barb, twist it lightly to break the varnish; failing that, slit it lengthwise with a blade and peel it off rather than levering on the fitting and risking damage.

Reassembly and Proof of a Dry Repair

Cut the new hose to match the original exactly, because slack chafes and a short piece loads the fittings. Seat each end fully on its barb dry, keeping grease, oil, and silicone entirely away from the sealing surfaces where they would give pressurized fuel a route past the clamp. A brief dunk of the hose end in hot water softens it enough to slide on unaided. Install new clamps behind the raised bead on each fitting and tighten them evenly, and let any self-locking quick-connect click into place with no clamp needed.

Restore the hose to its factory clips so it stays clear of exhaust heat and the front driveline. Wipe each connection with a clean rag, then idle the engine for several minutes and check once more before the bodywork goes back on.
