Before beginning on a 2019 Grizzly 700 4x4 EPS, confirm the fuel system: this model is fuel injected, drawing from a pump inside the tank and holding the delivery hose under pressure with the key on. There is no petcock anywhere beneath the tank, so the first move is bleeding the system down rather than closing a valve.
Understanding This Grizzly's Fuel Delivery
Injection sets three requirements. The circuit must be depressurized before any fitting is opened, the replacement hose has to be rated for pressure rather than gravity feed, and at least one end may use a self locking coupler in place of a barb and clamp. Look closely at both ends of the existing hose before ordering parts, and count exactly how many clamps you actually need.
The four wheel drive layout with electric power steering affects access more than method. The front differential and steering assist components occupy space the hose has to pass through, so expect tighter clearance than a two wheel drive machine would offer and plan on working slowly with your hands rather than muscling anything into place.
Catching Failure Before It Leaves You Walking

Because this hose carries pressurized fuel, a pinhole frequently produces a fine mist that evaporates before anything lands on the floor. A strong smell without a puddle is still a real leak. Turn the key to on so the pump builds pressure, then trace the hose with a light and a clean white rag until you locate the source.
The Reasons Fuel Hose Wears Out
The outer wall gives up first in most cases. Heat radiating off the big single, ultraviolet exposure, and years of temperature swings drive the plasticizers out of the rubber, and a hardened hose splits when the chassis flexes on rough ground. Dry air makes it worse by pulling residual moisture out of the material, which is why owners in arid country replace hose more often than owners on the coast.
The liner fails on its own schedule. Ethanol blended pump gas carries dissolved water and gradually breaks the inner surface down, and fuel that sits unused for months leaves varnish and gum behind. Those deposits restrict flow and break loose as debris headed for the injector. Since none of this is visible from outside, hose age deserves as much weight as hose appearance.
Tools, Prep, and Handling Gasoline Properly
Collect everything before you open a fitting: nitrile gloves and eye protection, a drain pan plus a sealed fuel approved container, injection rated hose in the original inside diameter, new clamps in the matching style, a quick connect release tool if your fittings call for one, line clamping pliers to substitute for the absent petcock, a razor blade, rags, and hand tools for the seat and plastics.
Then deal with ventilation honestly. Gasoline vapor is heavier than air and settles at floor level, right where you will be kneeling, and it can build up without being obvious. Roll the Grizzly outside or open the garage door completely and place a fan low to move air away from the work area. Shut off pilot lights on nearby appliances, keep hot work lights and grinders elsewhere, and disconnect the battery negative cable before anything comes apart.
Removal, Installation, and the Final Leak Check
Relieve pressure by pulling the fuel pump fuse from the block under the seat and then attempting to start the engine so it consumes what is left in the line. Key off, battery disconnected. Remove the seat and center bodywork, photograph the hose routing and every clip, then slide a pan underneath and drape a rag over the first joint. Ease clamps back along the hose before breaking the connection, and if varnish has glued the rubber to a barb, slit the hose lengthwise with a razor and peel it off rather than prying on an aged fitting. A quick connect comes apart with its tabs squeezed squarely and a straight pull.
Cut the replacement to the same length as the old hose, no longer, and seat each end fully onto its barb until it stops against the shoulder. Install it dry, with no grease, oil, or silicone on the fittings, since any film there gives pressurized fuel a path around the seal. Hot water softens a stubborn hose end enough to push on by hand. Place new clamps just behind the raised bead and tighten evenly, or if the tank end uses a self locking coupler, push until it clicks and tug to confirm the latch has caught. Return the hose to each original clip so it stays away from the front driveline and exhaust.
Reinstall the fuse and battery, then cycle the key on and off several times without cranking so the pump pressurizes the line while everything is still dry. Inspect both joints, start the engine, and check once more at idle before reinstalling the plastics. Keep one thing in mind afterward: this injected Grizzly carries its fuel filter inside the tank with the pump rather than inline on the visible hose, so lingering starvation after a clean install points to that assembly next.
