That reality drives every step below.

Symptoms That Point at the Hose

  • Hose that feels hard, chalky, or shows fine cracking when you pinch and flex it
  • The engine bogging on hills, hesitating when you snap the throttle, or acting lean

Assembling Parts and Making the Space Safe

What you want on hand: nitrile gloves, eye protection, a drain pan, an approved sealed fuel container, hose rated for fuel injection pressure in the original inside diameter, new clamps of the matching style, a quick-connect release tool if the tank outlet uses a locking coupler, line-clamping pliers since this model has no fuel valve, sockets and a plastic trim tool for the bodywork, and a thick stack of rags.

The ventilation point is not boilerplate. Gasoline vapor is heavier than air, which means it settles into a layer across the floor rather than drifting up and out. Routing the New Line Through a 4x4 MAX Frame

Cut the replacement to the original length, no longer. Slack hose finds a frame edge or an exhaust surface to lean against, and both outcomes end in a second repair. Seat each end fully onto its barb, pushing until it bottoms out, and install it dry. Leak Check, Then Ride
