Setting Up Safely with the Right Supplies

  • Rubber or nitrile gloves plus eye protection
  • An approved fuel can and a wide drain pan
  • Replacement line matched to the original inside diameter, a few inches long for trimming
  • New spring clips or small worm-gear clamps
  • Screwdriver, needle-nose pliers, razor knife, clear tubing, and clean rags

Move the quad outdoors, or open the shop door from top to bottom before you start. New Line In, Then Prove It Is Dry

Close the drain screw, open the petcock, and let gravity fill the line while you watch both joints for a full minute. Wipe each fitting dry, look again, then start the engine and let it idle for several minutes before a final check with everything hot and shaking.
