That is the correct amount, and going further cuts the wall and seeds the next weep. Return the line to its original clip, keeping clearance from the exhaust and the front driveline.

Open the valve and wait a minute before starting. Gravity refills the bowl during that time, which is the easiest window to catch a leak with everything cool. Wipe both joints dry, pause, and look for fresh fuel. Once they hold, start the engine, bring it to temperature, and inspect again under vibration. Finish with a slow lap and a final look before the plastics go back.
