The Georgia Dome in Atlanta hosted Monster Energy Supercross on Saturday for the final time as Round 8 of the 2017 season went to Ryan Dungey who won for the first time since Anaheim 2 and secured his place in Georgia Dome history with his fifth career victory tying Jeremy McGrath and Ricky Carmichael for most all-time at the venue. It was Dungey's second win of the season helping him increase his Championship points lead to 25. Marvin Musquin finished fifth and holds on to second-place in the standings by just two over Eli Tomac who took second in Atlanta. Blake Baggett rounded out the podium.

Zach Osborne grabbed his first career win and the points lead in the 250 East class taking the lead from Jordan Smith after five laps and easily beating Alex Martin. Colt Nichols took third. Osborne takes the red plate from Joey Savatgy who finished fourth and falls to second-place two points behind Osborne. Smith finished fifth and dropped a spot to third in the Championship standings.
