What Fuel Injection Changes Here

Draining Down and Pulling the Line

Injected bikes take the petcock out of the equation, so line-clamping pliers become the shutoff. Clamp the hose closed between the tank and the fitting you intend to open, and confirm it is fully pinched before going further.

Bleed off the pressure remaining in the circuit. With the ignition off and the engine cool, drape a rag over the connection and break it loose gradually. The rag catches the brief spray that comes with releasing a pressurized line.

Now get the fittings apart. On the 2017 Yamaha YZ250FX you may be dealing with a self-locking quick-connect, which releases by pressing a tab or retracting a collar rather than by force.
