What Fuel Injection Changes Here

The failure is chemical and thermal more than mechanical. Fuel hose stays soft because of additives in the rubber, and those additives leave over time — faster in heat, faster still in the dry air of an arid climate. A hose in that state has lost its ability to seal around a barb, so it seeps before it visibly splits. Fuel left standing does its own damage: ethanol blends draw in moisture and degrade after months of sitting, and the byproducts attack rubber and leave sticky residue. Working the Original Hose Free

Seat the tank-side connection first. If your 2017 Yamaha XT250 uses a quick-connect coupler, push the halves together firmly until the lock clicks, then confirm engagement by pulling lightly — a coupler that is not latched will separate under pressure. Confirming It Is Sealed

Next, start the engine and repeat the inspection warm.
