The following step-by-step guide covers everything you need to know to confidently complete this essential maintenance.

Preparation

  • Warm up the engine briefly (about 2–3 minutes). This helps the oil drain faster by reducing viscosity.
  • Place the bike upright on a stand for stability and proper oil flow.
  • Gather your tools: drain pan, 8 mm and 13 mm sockets, torque wrench, new oil filter and O-rings, fresh oil (see quantities below).
  • For the 2024 Beta 430 RS, recommended engine and transmission oil is Liqui Moly 10W-50 or an equivalent high-quality 4-stroke motorcycle oil.

Oil Change Procedure

  1. Remove the skid plate (if installed) to access the drain bolts.
  2. Remove the oil filter cover using the 8 mm socket. Have the drain pan ready to catch residual oil. Pull out the oil filter and O-ring.

    • Transmission drain bolt: 20 Nm
  8. Refill with new oil:
    • Engine: 650-750 ml.
    • Transmission: 750 ml.

If needed, run the engine for two minutes, shut it off, and check the oil sight glass on the engine side—the level should sit in the middle of the window when the bike is upright.   9. Replace the oil filler caps and tighten them securely. Wipe up any spills and confirm no leaks are visible.
