Ensure Safety & Preparation
Allow the engine to cool completely before starting. Hot coolant is pressurized and can cause severe burns.
Set the bike upright on a stand for level draining and filling.
Remove the radiator cap to relieve any residual pressure. -
Drain Old Coolant
Place a container under the water pump cover, specifically beneath the drain bolt located on the side of the engine. This is typically an 8mm bolt.
Remove the drain bolt and allow the coolant to fully drain. Tilting the bike upright and gently rocking it helps remove more old fluid.
Once empty, inspect coolant for debris – cloudiness or rust indicates you may want to flush the system with distilled water before proceeding.

Refill With New Coolant
Using a funnel, slowly add the new coolant through the radiator cap opening.
