Position a drain pan under the water pump area on the right side of the engine. Using a 10mm socket, remove the coolant drain bolt (and copper crush washer) from the water pump housing. Allow coolant to fully drain from the engine and radiator.
Tip: Tilt the bike gently side to side to ensure all old coolant escapes. - Flush the System (Recommended)
If you notice dirty or contaminated coolant, or if switching coolant types, flush the system with distilled water: replace the drain bolt, fill the system with distilled water, run the engine briefly, let it cool, then drain again. - Re-install the Drain Bolt
Inspect the copper washer on the drain bolt. Replace if damaged. Torque the drain bolt to 10 Nm (1.0 m•kg, 7.2 ft•lb). - Fill with New Coolant
Using a funnel, pour fresh coolant into the radiator until it reaches the base of the filler neck.
Fill the reservoir tank up to the upper level mark. - Bleed Air from the System
With the radiator cap off, start the engine and let it idle briefly. Watch for air bubbles escaping from the radiator filler neck—add coolant if needed. Turn off the bike, top off coolant, then re-install the radiator cap. - Reassemble Bodywork
Reinstall the air scoops and seat securely. - Final Check
After a short test ride, verify the coolant level in both the radiator and the reservoir tank once the engine cools. Top off if necessary.
