Why Change Your Coolant?

What You Will Need
- Fresh coolant (KTM recommends high-quality, silicate-free coolant; check manufacturer specs or choose a MotoSport-approved coolant for two-stroke KTM bikes)
- Distilled water (for flushing, if desired)
- Drain pan
- Socket/wrench set
- New radiator cap seal (optional, but recommended)
- Clean rag

Step-by-Step Coolant Change Instructions
- Ensure Safety. Only work on the bike once the engine is cool to avoid burns from hot coolant.
- Position Your KTM. Place your 300XCW on a stable stand and upright. For best results, elevate the front of the bike slightly–a poorly bled cooling system can lead to overheating. A jack or block raising the front wheel helps trapped air escape during refill.
- Remove the Skid Plate (if equipped). Remove any aftermarket or OEM skid plate to access the water pump drain plug and lower radiator area.
