Changing the Coolant: Step-by-Step
- Ensure the engine is cold. Never open the radiator cap on a hot engine–hot coolant can spray and cause burns.
- Remove the radiator cap to release any vacuum and allow coolant to drain freely.
- Locate the coolant drain bolt. On the 2003 KTM 200SX, it is typically found on the side of the water pump cover (left side of the engine, near the bottom). Place your catch container below this area.

- Dispose of old coolant responsibly–never pour it down the drain or on the ground.
