- Let Your Bike Cool Down
Never open the radiator cap when the engine is hot to avoid dangerous burns. – Wait at least 30 minutes after riding. - Remove the Radiator Cap
Twist the cap off slowly to release any leftover pressure. - Access the Drain Bolt
Locate the 10mm coolant drain bolton the KX85, it is typically found at the lower section of the water pump cover. Position your drain pan underneath. - Loosen the Drain Bolt
Use your socket or wrench to remove the bolt. Allow old coolant to fully drain into the pan. Slightly tilting the bike from side to side ensures all fluid empties. - Remove Bleeder Screw (If Equipped)
Some KX85s have an air bleeder screw on the radiator. Use a Phillips screwdriver to loosen itthis helps coolant drain cleanly. - Flush (Optional, but Recommended)
If you are switching coolant types or have dirty coolant, flush the system by pouring distilled water through with the drain bolt removed. Reinstall the drain bolt once water runs clear. - Reinstall the Drain Bolt

Ensure the cap is seated tightly. - Check for Leaks & Test
Start the engine and let it idle with the bike upright. Check the radiator, hoses, and drain bolt for leaks. Once the engine cools down, recheck coolant level and top off if necessary.
