Let the Motor Cool Down
Never attempt to open the radiator cap or drain coolant when the engine is hot. Coolant can be extremely hot and cause severe burns. -
Remove Seat & Shrouds (Optional)
For easier access to the radiator cap, you may wish to remove the seat and side shrouds using the appropriate tools. On the KX85, this is optional, but helpful especially for first-timers or if you plan to flush the system. -
Remove the Radiator Cap
Slowly twist the radiator cap off to prevent sudden release of pressure or hot vapor. -
Locate and Remove the Coolant Drain Bolt
