2020 Salt Lake City 1 Supercross Recap
Eli Tomac started the "new season" of the 2020 Monster Energy Supercross series with a solid win in the 450 class, coming a bit from behind, before checking out on Sunday for Round 11, the "restart to the series round" in Salt Lake City.
Tomac takes an eight point lead into Salt Lake City 2 tonight for Round 12 as the Supercross continues racing two rounds a week, every Sunday and Wednesday, through June 21 thanks to the near three month shutdown from the coronavirus outbreak. Ken Roczen, who trails in second for points, took third on Sunday while defending Champion Cooper Webb finished second and sits 32 points behind Tomac.
The 250 East Class continues with their season as Shane McElrath tries to stay hot after winning on Sunday and pulling within seven points of defending Champion Chase Sexton. Garrett Marchbanks trails in third-place, where he also placed on Sunday, 21 points back of Sexton.
Round 12 gets underway at 7 p.m. (PST) today on NBC Sports Network on the Gold app.
