Entering its second year on the redesigned chassis, the 2019 Beta 300 RR Race Edition benefits from improved clutch feel and refined suspension settings alongside the established new-frame platform. The improved clutch engagement is particularly impactful on the 300 Race — where riders depend on clutch modulation to manage the most torque in the enduro range during competition. The 300cc liquid-cooled two-stroke with electronic oil injection, power valve system, and six-speed gearbox powers the chrome-moly steel frame with KYB fork and Sachs shock. Ergal racing footpegs and factory livery distinguish the Race Edition from the standard 300 RR.

Engine Torque Specifications

Fastener Torque (Nm) Torque (ft-lbs)
Spark Plug 25 18
Cylinder Head Nuts 40 30
Cylinder Base Nuts 30 22
Flywheel Nut 65 48
Clutch Hub Nut 65 48
Transmission Drain Plug 15 11
Power Valve Cover Bolts 10 7

The improved clutch on the 2019 model uses updated friction materials and spring rates. On the 300 Race, where the clutch sees the most abuse in the Beta range, the hub nut at 65 Nm must be verified after every clutch inspection or replacement. Improved feel means nothing if the hub nut loosens under the 300’s full-power race loading.

Dry vs. Wet Torque

All values assume dry threads. Wet conditions at 40 Nm produce effective clamping force approaching 50 Nm dry. Reduce 15–20% when compound is present to prevent over-clamping the 300’s maximum bore.

Competition Loads & Clutch Impact

The improved clutch engagement changes how the 300 Race delivers its power to the rear wheel during competition. Smoother engagement reduces shock loads on the drivetrain — but the maximum torque through the system hasn’t changed. Rear axle, sprocket, and chain hardware still see the highest chain loads in the Beta range. Post-race torque verification on the entire drivetrain remains essential.

Thread Locker Application

Medium-strength (blue) thread locker for the 2019 Beta 300 RR Race:

  • Rear sprocket nuts
  • All disc bolts
  • Linkage bolts
  • Subframe bolts
  • Exhaust mount hardware
  • Skid plate bolts
  • Power valve cover bolts

Torque Wrench Selection

A 3/8-inch drive click-type for 15–100 Nm and a 1/4-inch drive for 10 Nm hardware. Two drive sizes for the refined 300cc Race Edition.
