The 2016 Beta 350 RR receives updated ECU mapping and improved cooling system efficiency for the mid-displacement four-stroke enduro platform. The revised ECU calibration sharpens throttle response through the mid-range, where the 349cc DOHC engine already excels. The liquid-cooled four-valve single with electronic fuel injection and six-speed gearbox pairs with the steel perimeter frame, KYB 48mm fork, and Sachs rear shock. Improved cooling extends the 350’s endurance in hot conditions and sustained technical riding, but the thermal changes also affect how the engine reaches operating temperature and how the head gasket performs during warm-up cycles.

Dry vs. Wet Torque

Oil drain plug threads are always wet — reduce 15–20% when sealant is applied. All other values assume dry threads.

Improved Cooling & Head Torque

The improved cooling system changes the 350’s thermal cycling patterns. More efficient cooling means the head reaches stable operating temperature differently, and thermal expansion patterns at the head gasket shift. Consistent 40 Nm head bolt torque provides the stable clamping force the four-stroke’s head gasket needs regardless of cooling system changes. Verify head bolt torque after the first few heat cycles on a new or rebuilt engine to confirm the gasket has seated properly.

Thread Locker Recommendations

Medium-strength (blue) thread locker for the 2016 Beta 350 RR:

  • Rear sprocket nuts
  • All disc bolts
  • Linkage bolts
  • Subframe bolts
  • Exhaust header bolts
  • Skid plate bolts

Torque Wrench Selection

A 3/8-inch drive click-type for 20–100 Nm and a 1/4-inch drive for 10–12 Nm valve cover and cam hardware. Two drive sizes for the cooling-updated 350cc four-stroke.
