Man these things are bulletproof! I swapped over from the acerbis rally x guards which I destroyed in 10 hours. I'm very tough on my bike, and it goes down hard in rock gardens and at high speed. It's not uncommon to having my bike falling down a 10 ft rock face. These things have taken 60 hours of hard abuse and they haven't budged. Obviously the plastic is destroyed but that's an easy fix. Will definitely be putting on the next bike, can't live without them! Well worth the money. Picture of some said abuse, and they did not budge.

Great Product

Overall a great product. I am very pleased with the rigidity of the hand guards. I have really abused them the last month or so and they haven't bent, or broken. all in all a great product. Highly recommend, worth the price.

Great Guards

Easy to mount, full coverage, the hardware supplied worked in my Renthal twin wall bars without any problems, I have the ODI lock on grips so I trimmed to grips and plastic on the tubes to fit perfectly..

Great fit

I put these on a beta 300 two stroke. With the stock computer and wiring near the bars, these fit great. Took a little while to get everything where I liked it , but i was able to make it perfect. Great adjustability and best looking hand guards I ever seen

Looks are not everything

These hand guards look great once installed and very easy to mount onto oversized bars. I didn't have any trouble with cables or any other interference. I did have a problem with the hardware that came with the set.
I was having a problem with the bolt that attaches the plastic guard to the bar. I tried a 3.5 allen wrench but it was too small and a 4 was too big. I called Cycra customer service and they sent some bolts to replace it ASAP and told me they had a few problems with the hardware. After receiving the new hardware, I had the same problem. I made it work.
Soon after the install I went riding and enjoyed the protection they gave me. This past weekend we hit the trails again. The trails were a little slippery but nothing too crazy. I slid out coming into a turn and landed on my left side. The fall was one of those slow motion slide outs. Not a hard impact to the ground plus it was mostly mud. When I picked the bike up, I noticed the hand guard bar was bend. The bend occurred right were the bar, that wraps around the grip, bolts to the mounting bar beside the bar clamps. I was instantly dissatisfied with this product. I would expect more durability from a product that cost $170. I’ve had much cheaper bark buster and handguards that held up way better than these.

“By mounting Cycra handguards to the lower portion of the handlebar, they have simply eliminated the application variables. Resulting in an ULTRA strong handguard system with easy installation…”
I don’t agree with the ULTRA strong.

I gave this product 2 stars because they were easy to install and Cycra customer service was great to deal with. I don’t think they are anywhere near as durable as they are made out to be. Don’t spend the money for these when a cheaper set will do the job just as good if not better.

Good As they Get

Nice fit and good looking too. I like the vented inserts for riding in the summer. This was my 2nd pair of these.

Best mounting system ever

I love the way these mount to the bars. I race enduro so my bars are shortened by 1" on each end. This puts the mounts inside of the bar clamp and fork tubes. They don't interfere with the comp adjusters or impede the ability to lower the front end, but they do negate the ability to use a single piece top clamp. I think on standard width bars the mounts will bolt above the fork tubes outside of the bar clamp. This position may interfere with your ability to lower the front end and to adjust the comp and air bleed screw.

A: Well if you have the stock 7/8" bars on the bike still you need the 7/8" clamp kit and 1 1/8" if you have upgraded to bigger bars. As for the guards they are all the same the difference is in the bar diameter.

A: you would want to get it for 7/8ths bars, the crf125 big wheel has thinner bars you may want to look for mini bike specific handguards.

Q: Will these fit on Renthal Twinwall Handlebars - Oversized 1-1/8 922 Carmichael High bars?
1 year 6 months ago
I ordered Renthal handlebars through motosport and I was wondering if these would fit or if its an easier question to answer, what is the maximum diameter the clamps on each end can fit? The plugs on the end of my old hand guards were too big and the clamps where too small to fit my new bars.

A: I ordered these hand guards for my renthal bars after talking to a motosport representative and they fit pretty nicely. Some of the cables on my KDX make it a little hard to get them at a nice angle but they are still able to be mounted nicely since they are very adjustable. They also work very well and can take a beating. My friend was ridding my bike right after I installed them and he ended up drilling a tree with it fairly hard. They did a great job at protecting his hands and everything on the handle bars. The radiator and plastics are another story though.
