The 2021 Beta 300 RX brings Beta’s big-bore two-stroke into the motocross arena. Unlike the enduro-focused 300 RR, the RX is a closed-course machine with motocross-specific suspension tuning, stiffer springs, firmer damping settings, and a chassis setup optimized for high-speed jumps and hard landings. The 300cc liquid-cooled two-stroke with electronic oil injection, power valve system, and six-speed close-ratio gearbox delivers the same massive torque as the enduro model, but the motocross environment subjects the chassis to far more violent impacts. The chrome-moly steel frame, KYB 48mm fork with motocross-tuned valving, and Sachs rear shock handle the 300’s power on the track. Motocross loading patterns — repeated high-energy landings, aggressive acceleration out of corners, and sustained high-RPM operation — create unique torque maintenance requirements.

Suspension & Chassis
Motocross impacts generate far higher peak loads on the chassis than enduro trail riding. The 300 RX’s stiffer suspension transmits landing forces more directly to the frame than the softer enduro settings on the RR. This means swingarm pivot, shock mounts, and linkage bolts see sharper load spikes after every jump landing.

Dry vs. Wet Torque
All values assume dry threads. Motocross conditions are typically cleaner than enduro, but the 300’s 40 Nm head nut spec remains the most critical. Reduce 15–20% when compound is present.
Motocross vs. Enduro Loading
The 300 RX subjects fasteners to different stress patterns than the 300 RR. Enduro loading is sustained and variable; motocross loading is repetitive and high-energy. Jump landings cycle the chassis through extreme compression loads dozens of times per moto. Hard acceleration from bermed corners loads the drivetrain with the 300’s full torque repeatedly. Post-moto torque checks on chassis pivots, shock mounts, and drivetrain hardware should be standard practice on the 300 RX.
Thread Locker Recommendations
Medium-strength (blue) thread locker for the 2021 Beta 300 RX:
- Rear sprocket nuts
- All disc bolts
- Linkage bolts
- Subframe bolts
- Exhaust mount hardware
- Power valve cover bolts
Torque Wrench Selection
A 3/8-inch drive click-type for 15–100 Nm and a 1/4-inch drive for 10 Nm hardware. Two drive sizes for the 300cc motocross machine.
