EVS TP199 Knee Guards

EVS TP199 Knee Guards

fmxrider6 - CA. Surprised at all the great reviews "I was shocked when I received these at how thin the reactive memory foam padding in the knee cup is. You can compress it between your fingers from either side of the knee pad and feel it squish, but it has to be no more than 1/8" thick, and you can literally flatten it between your fingers. Just put them on and pound on your knees to feel the discomfort instantly, way to thin on the patella area padding.. Not only that but where the knee cup meets the shin guard there are gaps in the padding, and the shin guard itself is flimsy. Again, just put them on and start pushing around at the bottom of the knee cup / top of the shin guard to feel your bones with no padding or plastic to cover them. Lastly, the thigh protection is pretty much non-existent, just some lycra material to hold the upper strap. I ended up cutting apart some old knee guards and gluing the knee cup from those inside the TP199 knee guards. While it made them tighter / more restrictive, the patella area padding is now proper. EVS missed the mark here, but its possible that they were going for a super flexible un-restrictive knee guard. Still, these could be just as comfortable while offering much thicker padding, proper shin / thigh guards, and no gaps in the padding / protective material. Really wanted to like them, and while Im wearing them for now I am already looking for something new."
