Awsome

Bought this and hmf full exhaust at the same time. Install and break in took some time but well worth it. I didn't see any loss in low end power and mid to top was a huge increase. Top end is great now.

MORE POWER

The Hotcams stage 2 was a great power increase, specially in the upper RPM range. Possible you will have to do a little machine work on your head for the intake lobes to clear, other than that its a snap to install

Great power

I only have a couple rides with the cam but fealt like I could notice a difference with the response and power of the bike as soon as I turn the throttle. Im happy so far. I installed this on my 2008 CRF250R with athena big bore kit.

Q: I bought a cam for a 2015 crf450x and in the cam box the cam card said 2008 crf450r I assume there’s no issues with that?

A: Sounds like you received NOS (new, old stock). There should be no problem with the product you received.

Q: Installed one on my 05 trx450r and after about 100hrs of riding the bike wont fire. Pulled the valve cover off and the intake lobe on sprocket side is worn down about 1/4in on the tip. Any suggestions as to why and will motosport or hot cams warranty it?

A: Motosport will not warranty this part and more than likely, Hot Cams will not warranty it either. 100 hours is a long time on an engine, a lot could have happened in that time frame I would check the torque specs and proper install.

Q: How much top end speed can I expect from my 2014 Yamaha raptor 700 after adding stage 2 hotcams

A: Because of many varying factors such as gearing, tire size and tread, terrain, other performance modifications and more a "top speed" increase can not be determined. However you can expect to see a noticeable increase in low-end torque gains across the entire RPM range. As well as Excellent top-end power gains with great over-rev.

Q: Hot Cams 2 install

Do I have to grind down the head for a 2008 crf250r for installing the hot cams 2. It mentions it in the directions.

A: This will depend on the casting. If you do it is minimal, but important the lobes clear the exhaust rocker and the cylinder head. its pretty simple. If you are unable to a local machine shop can do it at a reasonable price.

A: the stage 2 should work with your OEM valves and springs. I would highly recommend a new timing chain, specially if its more than a year old. you will benefit in the mid to upper RPM range

Q: So do They come with a decompression mechanism or do I have to go buy that to?
I have a 2007 CRF250r and the decompression weight broke off of the stock camshaft. I was thinking about getting just what broke but I think I'm going to get a new camshaft instead. Just needed to know if I buy the stage two hotcams camshaft if I would also have to buy the decompression assembly as well.

A: the best Jetting Kit is the JD Jetting Kit From Motosport. IT is all inclusive and simple installation instructions are included. It also eliminates the guess work for different altitudes. I also includes jetting and recommendations for altitudes from sea level to 9000 feet above sea level.
