When the line is truly seized, slice it lengthwise and peel it away.

Routing and Securing the New Line

Cut the new hose to length using the old one as a template, adding nothing extra. Line that is too long sags into the engine or gets pinched when the tank is bolted down; too short and it tugs at the fittings under vibration. A clean square cut seals better than a ragged one.

Push the new line onto the petcock spigot first, far enough to cover the full barb. Stiff hose goes on more easily after thirty seconds in warm water. What you must not do is lubricate the fitting — no grease, no oil, no silicone. Any of it compromises the seal and can contaminate the fuel path on your 2005 KTM 200EXC.

Position the carburetor end next, checking your routing against how the original sat.
