Step-by-Step Guide: Beta 200 RR Oil Change

  1. Warm up the engine briefly (2-3 minutes). This helps oil drain out smoothly and carries contaminants with it.
  2. Turn off the engine and put the bike on a stand or keep it upright and level.
  3. Locate & remove the skid plate if installed, to access the drain bolt underneath.
  4. Remove the oil drain bolt (under the engine, right side near the brake pedal). Allow oil to completely drain into your pan.
  5. Reinstall the drain bolt, torque it snug (do not overtightenBeta recommends around 10 Nm).
  6. Remove the oil fill cap (on right engine cover, near your right boot).
  7. Add new oil using a funnel, pouring in 690 mL for a standard change.– see note below
  8. Check the oil level: With the bike upright and level, remove the oil check bolt (behind the brake pedal return spring). Oil should gently weep out. If not, slowly add a bit more oil until it does.– see note below
  9. Reinstall the check bolt and fill cap.
  10. Wipe up any spillage, reinstall the skid plate, and check for leaks.
