Step-by-Step Guide
- Warm up the engine for two minutes, then shut the bike off and put it on a stable surface. This helps the oil drain completely and suspends debris for removal.
- Remove the skid plate for easier access to the drain and filter areas.
- Remove the oil filter cover bolts (8 mm), have your drain pan ready to catch drips. Take off the filter cover, oil filter, and o-ring. Let them sit uncovered to help oil drainage.
- Remove engine oil drain bolt (13 mm) and allow engine oil to drain fully.
- Remove transmission oil drain bolt and allow transmission oil to fully drain. Use separate drain bolts—each side uses its own circuit.
- Replace the oil filter with a new one, making sure the open end faces the engine. Install a new cover o-ring and tighten the cover bolts to 10 Nm.
- Install new o-rings on the drain bolts, then re-install and torque the engine drain bolt to 15 Nm and transmission drain bolt to 20 Nm.

- Replace the oil filler cap o-rings with new ones. Install filler caps and tighten securely.
