Tools & Supplies You Need

  • Silicate-free motorcycle coolant (pre-mixed or mix with distilled water)
  • Socket set (commonly 8mm and 10mm)
  • Drain pan
  • Funnel
  • Paper towels or rags

  • Reconnect the siphon hose at the reserve tank.
  • Pour new coolant into the radiator fill neck using a funnel until the fluid reaches the bottom of the neck.
  • Lean the bike about 20’ left and right several times, top up the fluid as the level drops to remove air bubbles trapped in the system.
  • Install the radiator cap securely.
  • Fill the reserve tank up to the minimum marker.

Step 5: Bleeding Air Out

  • Start the engine and let it idle for 2–3 minutes with the bike upright; snap the throttle a few times (avoid revving aggressively).
  • Turn the engine off and check coolant level; top up the reserve tank as necessary to keep between min and max marks.
  • Inspect all hoses and bolts for leakstighten gently if needed.
