What You Need
- Replacement coolant suitable for aluminum motorcycle engines

- Drain pan for old coolant

Step 1: Prepare the Bike
- Make sure the engine is completely cool before beginning. Never open the radiator cap on a hot engine–it is under pressure and hot fluid can spray out and cause burns.

- For a thorough refresh, flush the system by pouring distilled water through the radiator and letting it drain. Repeat until water runs clear. Compressed air can be used to blow excess water out if switching to a different coolant type.
Step 5: Refit and Refill
- Reinstall the drain bolt with the new copper washer. Tighten to 10 Nm (7.2 ft–lb).
- Reconnect any hoses and reattach components removed earlier.
- Slowly pour fresh coolant into the radiator neck. Be patient and pour in small amounts to prevent air locks. Fill to just below the neck or as indicated in your owner's manual.
- If you have a reservoir tank, fill it to the specified level as well.
Step 6: Bleed the Cooling System
- With the cap off, start the engine and let it idle for a minute. Watch for bubbles escaping the radiator neck–this means air is purging from the system.
- Top off coolant as needed, then shut down and refit the radiator cap.
Step 7: Final Check and Reassembly
- Wipe off any spilled coolant. Reinstall air scoops and seat.
- Check for leaks around the drain bolt, hoses, and cap.
- After your first ride, recheck your coolant level when the engine is cool and top up if needed.
