(Optional) Flush the cooling system.
Reinstall the drain bolt temporarily. Pour distilled water into the radiator, then run the engine for a minute. Shut off, let cool, and drain again to clear out residues. Repeat until the flush water drains clear. -
Reinstall the drain bolt & washer.
Hand-start the threads to avoid cross-threading, then gently snug with a wrench. -
Fill the radiator with new coolant.

Bleed air from the system.
