Before You Start
- Ensure the engine is completely cool before servicing to prevent burns.

Step-by-Step Coolant Change Guide
- Remove the Skid Plate (if installed).
Most models have a skid plate protecting the engine. Use the appropriate tools to remove it and gain access to the water pump cover. - Take Off the Radiator Cap.
Twist off the radiator cap located on the right side of the bike at the highest point of the cooling system. This releases any residual pressure and aids draining. - Drain the Old Coolant.
Locate the water pump cover drain bolt (typically an M6 bolt, 10mm head) near the right side engine cover, just below the radiator hoses. Place a drain pan underneath, then remove the bolt carefully. Allow all coolant to drain completely. - Dispose of Old Coolant Properly.
Coolant is toxic–never pour it down the drain. Use an approved disposal method or recycling center. - Reinstall Drain Bolt.
Inspect the copper or aluminum sealing washer on the drain bolt. Replace if damaged. Torque the drain bolt to approximately 10 Nm (7.4 lbf–ft). - Refill the System.
Using a funnel, pour the new coolant into the radiator filler neck just below the fins. Take care not to overfill. The recommended coolant capacity for the 2019 250SXF FE is about 1 liter, but check your model’s specific manual for exact specs. Fill just until the fluid is visible above the core, below the filler neck. - Eliminate Air Pockets.
Tilt the bike gently from side to side to help release any trapped air. Squeeze the radiator hoses to further burp the system. If equipped, use the bleed screw at the cylinder head or highest radiator point briefly, then re-tighten. - Reinstall Radiator Cap securely.
- Run the Engine.

Shut off the engine, allow it to cool, and recheck coolant level. Top off if needed. - Reattach the Skid Plate and inspect for leaks.
