Preparation

- Place a drain pan beneath the engine.
- Locate the coolant drain bolt, usually on the lowest point of the water pump cover. Carefully remove it and allow all coolant to drain.
- For a more complete flush, you can remove the lower radiator hose.

Flush the System (Optional but Recommended)
Add distilled water or a commercial radiator flush solution to the radiator. Reinstall the drain bolt temporarily, start the bike briefly (under a minute), and let the water circulate. Shut off, allow to cool, then drain again. Repeat until the drained water runs clear. -
Reinstall the Drain Bolt
Ensure the copper washer, if present, is in good condition. Re-install and tighten the drain bolt to the recommended torque. -
Add Fresh Coolant
Using a funnel, fill the radiator with the recommended coolant until it sits about 10mm above the radiator fins (visible with cap off and engine cold, per Beta guidelines). -
Bleed Air from the System
Open the bleed screw located at the top of the right radiator. As you fill, allow air to escape until coolant runs steadily out, then close the screw. -
Check and Top Off
With the radiator cap off, gently rock the bike side-to-side to release air bubbles. Top up coolant if needed. Reinstall radiator cap securely. -
Warm Up & Repeat Final Checks
Start the engine and let it run until up to full operating temperature (fan cycles, if equipped). Shut off and allow to cool fully, then check coolant again–top up as needed, also checking the overflow tank if present.
