Step 5: Refill the Cooling System

  • Slowly pour new coolant into the radiator using a funnel.
  • Fill until the coolant just reaches the bottom of the filler neck. Do not overfill.
  • Slowly rock the bike side to side and gently squeeze lower radiator hoses. This encourages trapped air to rise to the filler neck.

Step 6: Bleed the System

  • Leave the radiator cap off and briefly start the engine (10-20 seconds) to circulate coolant–do not let the engine overheat.
  • Shut off the bike, allow bubbles to escape, and check coolant level. Add coolant if necessary.
  • Install and tighten the radiator cap.
