  • With the drain bolt and cap removed, pour distilled water into the radiator to flush out any lingering coolant or deposits.
  • Let the water exit through the open drain, and repeat until the water runs clear.
  • Do not use tap water, as it may leave mineral deposits in your cooling system.

Step 4: Reinstall Drain Plug and Prepare for Filling

  • Securely reinstall the drain bolt at the water pump and the plug on the expansion bottle, if removed.
  • Double-check all bolts and fittings for proper tightness to prevent leaks.

Step 5: Fill with Fresh Coolant

  • Using a funnel, slowly pour pre-mixed coolant into the radiator until it reaches the base of the filler neck.
  • Fill the expansion bottle to the indicated "Full" line.

Step 6: Bleed Air from the System

  • Briefly tilt the bike left and right to help any trapped air escape.
  • Some models have a bleed screw near the top of the radiator. If present, open it until fluid escapes, then retighten.
  • Reinstall the radiator cap after all bubbles stop appearing.

Step 7: Run & Recheck Levels

  • Start the engine and let it idle for several minutes. Watch the temperature gauge if equipped, ensuring the engine stays within proper operating temperature.
  • Once the bike cools, recheck the coolant levels in both the radiator and expansion bottle and top off as required.
