Step-by-Step Coolant Change for the 1997 Honda CR500
- Let the engine cool completely.
If the bike was recently running, allow it to cool for at least an hour. - Remove the radiator cap.
Place a rag around the cap before loosening for safety, as residual pressure can force coolant out. Twist the cap off slowly. - Remove the coolant drain bolt.
