Filter DOES NOT fit on O.E.M carburetor!

Filter diameter is to large for carburetor. When trying to tighten the filter it gets squeezed off the back of the carburetor. Very disappointed.

UNI Filter

Good filter, Super easy to install. Looks great (not as good as the red UNI filters, but still good), and filters the dirt, snow, mud, watever nature throws at it with ease. Makes my 50 have that traditional "breathing" sound that u hear with most hopped up 50s. A+++

A good choice

I bought this air filter for my honda 50 and it definitely made a difference as to the power. The engine was getting much more air. Only downsides are that is doesn't seem very secure on the carb and is gets dirty very fast.

A: Due to the variations that may come into effect when tuning an engine (i.e. pipes, intake, altitude, cams, displacement, standard or high compression pistons, etc.) we CANNOT offer jetting recommendations.
Q: Do I need to re jet?
I have a total stock bike. Want to replace factory air box with UNI clamp on filter. Will I need to re jet? If so what size?

A: With this filter installed you will more than likely need to re-jet. The jetting will depend on what elevation the bike is ridden at as jetting at sea level will need to be richer than if the bike is ridden at 4000 ft. On a stock CRF50 depending on where and when it is ridden I would possibly recommend staying with the stock air filter and airbox. It doesn't get contaminated as quickly with dirt and is much more protected in wet conditions.

A: Yes it will fit,

It clamps onto the intake side of the carb.
Q: Is there a part that goes in place of the vac hose that is still connected to the tranny case after the filter is instaled?
There is a vacuum hose connected the original air box to the tranny case.It is a hose with what I think is an" oil katch box" in the middle, and it looks like a vacuum hose. mabey a tranny cooling vac.type vac-?!?!?
Expert MotoSport Staff
A: If you're referring to the XR/CRF50, that hose is actually a crank case breather hose. when you eliminate the stock air intake, with this clamp on style air filter, you will want to get a Crankcase Vent Filter from K&N and attach it to the hose. Unfortunately we do not stock this item as we have scaled back our 50 parts. You can find this filter at any local dealership or try contacting two brothers racing.
A: that hose is for taking the oil vapors inside the crankcase and burning them with the air/fuel mixture
