Not impressed

I bought this shift lever to replace my stock one on my 2009 YZ 250. I had about 2 hours on this one when the splines in the shifter completely stripped out and the shift lever was completely unusable. The same exact day I put it on, I took it off and threw it in the garbage. I am disappointed to say the least.

Bad fitment

Doesn't fit my '06 yz250 even though it said it would. The angle on the bolt wasn't in the correct position to take off easily. Product probably would be awesome if it wasn't for that.

You get what you pay for.

The shifter was much shorter than the OEM shifter. Also, it stripped out within TEN MINUTES OF USE.

Great quality. Didn't fit

If you have an early 2007 CRF450R this shifter will not clear the side case when up shifting without some serious modification with a file. This may work for a late model 2007 CRF450R.
Honda list two different shift levers for a 2007 depending on when your bike was built determined by the VIN number.

Bang for the buck

You can't go wrong with this gear shift lever. Fit perfectly. Looks as good as higher priced ones for a lot less.

Q: Would this fit an 03 rm125? I know it says that the machine isn't available but the threads look right and the bend looks the same as the rmz250 that it says it would fit on.

Will this shifter be longer than the stock one. Because i have boots and its hard to get under. Will this make it easier
MotoSport Staff
A: This shift lever will be the stock specifications and will not be any longer in length than the stock one. You could always rotate the lever up while mounting to make a little more room for shifting.
A: I do believe it is the same length as the stock one. Try rotating the shifter up one notch and see if that helps you out. It is by far better quality than the stock shifter.
A: No difference in the distance the shift lug sticks out. Getting under the shifter while wearing a motocross boot (read: foot cast) is hard unless you work them in enough to get some flex. Another thing to look for in a boot is a nice compact toe-box.
Q: Does it come with the screw to tighten it?
