Provides a smoother surface for the chain to glide on than stock. Install was simple after removing the countershaft sprocket guard. Last as long if not longer than stock.
Perfect fit. Easiest to install when chain and countershaft sprocket guard is removed. Used with stock hardware. 2018 YZ450 fits same as 2017.
It looks good and I love how it looks on my 2018 125yz
Fit was terrible on my 2001 CR125. Instructions say to put it in an oven at low temp to help stretch it if it does not fit. That did not help much and the tips of the front sprocket were hitting the slider anyways, which you cant do anything about. I ordered an OEM slider and it fit perfect with no issues, no oven treatments and no cussing.
This slider is over thought and over engineered. Seems durable though if it did fit.
This slider is way more heavy duty than a stock one and was pretty stoked to see it came with new hardware as well. Can't say for sure how durable it is yet but by the feel and look of it I'd say it's gunna last a long time. Pretty good price as well so I would definitely recommend.
I went to install the slider and it wouldn't fit. After looking at the worn out stocker, I noticed that TM didn't put the slot that centers the slider on the front part of the swing arm. Luckily, it drilled and trimmed easily. After that mod, it bolted on easily and so far so good on durability. It is a nice part but it is sloppy of TM to not include that slot. NOTE: this is for an 06 RM 250. On other bikes, it may bolt right on.
I've done one 1.5 hour GP/enduro and find the slide plate wearing grooves already... I don't know if it will slow down once the new chain finishes making these grooves and rollers are touching the center guide... Not sure if its just the high pressure on the guide from the chain side plates...or soft material... but it looks sharp.
So durability at this point after less than two hours ride time is average.
Product was simple to install, NOTE: easier if the counter sprocket is removed.
Fit, quality very good, chain will not jump out of groove and damage swing arm mud flap.
