It works

I never used pinlocks in any of my other helmets and would just crack open the lid if it fogged up. After using this, I can say it works well on my RF-1200. Only had one instance where there was a tiny bit of fogging, but it went away almost immediately. I have a few gripes though: dust adheres to its surface super easily, such as dirt/road dust when you have your visor opens - which means you have to clean it often, which leads to my second gripe. It's super fragile, so adhere to the directions when it comes to cleaning it as it will scratch easily. Lastly, the price seems steep, but it's a Shoei product so... to be expected.

Easy to install

Purchased this for a new RF1200 and first time I have every used a pinlock. Pretty easy to install, fits right inside the flip up shield and fits nice and tightly to the shield. I wish it were somehow outside the shield to protect the shield from scratches and dings that could occur but we will see if it helps decrease fogging.

Much too easily scratched

Followed instructions for cleaning and used gentle soap and water and patted dry. Very fine scratches after cleaning. Bought another and same thing. Doesn't obscure vision much but eventually will. Great against visor fogging. Not great for usual wear and tear and certainly not worth the money. I will leave my visor pin lock free and slightly ajar if and when it fogs.

No fog ever!

I've been using Pinlocks for my Shoei RF-1100 for over two years now. I am a HUGE fan of them, there was a slight reflection at first to get used to but I never notice anymore. Anyone who has fogging issues will not regret getting a pinlock!

My one negative is that you really cant switch them out to much. I originally got a smoke and a clear pinlock and was switching to clear for winters and smoke for summers. But after a few seasons of doing that they are not getting a good seal anymore and fogging up around the edges. So I would recommend once you install it leave it in as long as possible.

All in all though for the price and the amount of use I have put on them they are 100% worth it.
