Close to stock

Replaced this piston with my ART stocker. Not much difference. I dislike how they don't sell by the size. Motosport should look into this. They sent me a B pison last time. I really needed a A. but the B worked.

Best. Ever.

I finally got my bike started after 2 years of procrastinating. I can definitely feel the power increase. Loads more compression than the stock piston. I’m definitely buying Pro-X pistons from now on.

Made in japan, quality

i never had a bike seize with one of these pro x pistons, as its cast and is extremely if not exactly like the oem piston. i can pull 210 pounds of compression on my 88 cr250, i just put it in my 99 yz250. if ur bike has a exhaust bridge, this would be the piston to get. and lubrication hole drilling isnt needed.

A: If you are just replacing the piston, then you need to first know the bore of the cylinder. This can be done by using a bore gauge to find the diameter or by reading the owner’s manual to find the bore specifications. Ultimately, the bore should be measured for the best possible results. After the diameter is known, then you can pick which size piston will work best in your cylinder. Remember to maintain about a 0.05mm (0.002”) piston to cylinder clearance, depending on application. If you are having a cylinder re-plated, then you will want to choose a piston of the OE bore size (an A or B size is probably best). When you send the piston and cylinder away to get re-plated, the plating facility will match the cylinder bore to piston diameter. If you have a cast iron bore cylinder and you are sending the piston and cylinder off to a machinist to be bored out, then you will want a piston that is oversized from the current diameter. For example: If your current bore is 64.00mm, then you will want to choose a 64.50mm or similar oversized piston. The machinist boring the cylinder will bore and hone the cylinder to match the piston size. Also, feel free to give us a call at 888-676-8853 and we would be happy to help you out with your order.

Q: Which Piston To Use on an A Cylinder
I have a 2006 YZ 85 that needs a Top-End change. The Cylinder is marked with an (A). However all the after market piston don't have the letter designation. My question is does it matter or should I get it from Yamaha?

A: What you need to find out is what's it boor to if its a stock boor then you can just order a stock piston Wisco is a nice piston that give good power and last long for me

A: After a bike has been ran and is due for a piston change, the cylinder has worn enough that you can install any "stock bore" piston in it. The sizing difference between an A to B cylinder is only .0001"-.0002" when they are new. This is why aftermarket companies such as Wiseco only offer 1 size piston for all the Yamaha A,B,C,D cylinders.

Q: The picture shows only one ring even though the piston has two grooves for "rings". The description says it come with "rings". whats included?

A: This will vary based on what bike it is for. If you can give us a call with your model specific information, we can let you know if it is a 1 or 2 ring piston for your application.
