Good Idea, Poor execution..

The bottom line is that this works great if everything lines up perfectly. If the bars or handguards become tweaked the slightest bit, the throttle will stick. I ditched the entire set up and went back to the oem tube.

Nothing again this item, cuz I couldn't find it anywhere else but I've tried everything to put barkbusters on these bars and throttle just sticks since there's a bearing on end. Got rid of protaper all together

Q: I got one, since I bought both a Pro Taper SE and Twister Throttle; will I need two?
3 months 5 days ago
I was under the impression this was specifically for the Twister Throttle to allow for a Barkbuster hand guard on the right (throttle side); will another one be needed for the left (clutch side)? Or is there something else needed? (Why not remove the "Throttle" part of the title, if so?) Thanks!

A: The clutch side won't need the adapter because it doesn't have the twisting of the throttle that would affect the mounts that go in your bar. So you will be fine since these are made for just the throttle side.

Q: Hand Guard recommendation
I have the pro taper ball bearing tube and was looking into getting hand guards. I'm sick of my fingers getting ripped apart when I drop the bike in a turn. I have a 2006 yz250f with 7/8 protaper bars I think. The bike is bone stock. Will this adapter allow any hand guards to fit? Any recommended hand guards? All I want is protection from the levers crushing my fingers during a crash.

A: It would not work with the aluminum, bearing throttle tube. Feel free to give us a call at 888-676-8853 and we would be happy to help you out with your order.

A: Yes they fit 7/8" handlebars. The ProTaper twister tube inserts are designed to allow you the use of hand guards after installing a Pro Taper twister tube. They are made of high-quality steel for long-lasting durability and performance and are available for a wide variety of bikes. So, if you want the feel of a consistent and smooth throttle from a twister tube, but still want to be able to use hand guards, ProTaper twister tube inserts are your solution.

A: This is actually for the Pro Taper Twister throttle tube. That throttle tube has a ball bearing that fits inside the bar. This adapter piece lets you still run that throttle tube along with bark busters. They have them for different handle bars.

A: Allows use of Hand guards with Heavy wall(1-1\8" ,Protaper type bars). Smaller dia. to fit in those type of bars. Needed when upgrading handlebars from 7\8" to 1-1\8" tapered bars, if you want to keep your hand guards.
