Amazing Tire

This is the XCMH. Not mentioned, but this is a DOT tire.

I took this on a 570 mile trip, loaded up and living on my EXC 400.

I ripped up the trails (as much as one can when carrying everything to live on and an extra 6 gallons of fuel), which was 80% offroad and 20% asphalt. This tire took it all and had knobs left over. I could have gone another 500 miles.

Great tires!!!

Best tire I have had!

The tire is great for what I ride! Dual sport, I ride about 90/10 dirt:pavement ratio and the durability of the tire is great along with grip and traction!

Q: Performance

i ride all around Oregon, but i mostly ride in dirt / mud. whith the rainy season coming, my question is how well do you think this tire will perform on a KDX220R on cold, hard, wet mud?

A: You listed a variety of terrains. Thus you want a tire that is not very terrain specific, but rather good in a broad range of conditions. You may consider a AT tire like the Dunlop AT81s, Maxxis IT or an Artrax tire as a better choice than the Pirelli Mid-Hard tire.

A: If you were really wanting to go with the Scorpion and wanted better grip, the softer version would provide better grip at the cost of longevity.

I found the XC MH to offer the grip I wanted with longevity in mind. (but this was a point of focus for a long distance off road trip)

A: Yes, the Pirelli Scorpion XC Mid Hard Rear Tire is a DOT approved tire. This tire uses an off-road compound so we do not recommend it for road use. Some areas require the DOT approval even for just crossing over roadways.
