Nice item

Works well but I prefer the traditional way

Great for fluid flushes.

This works best if you are changing brake or clutch fluid. If you have no fluid in the line or a lot of air, this will not help you out much. The best thing would be to get a reverse bleeder or an air bleeder to fill the line. This works best at getting the brake or clutch feel how you like after getting a majority of the air out. I cut the tube going from the bleeder end to the one way valve. It cuts down on the amount of fluid that you need to "bleed out" to prime the check valve. Once the valve is primed you no longer need to hold the brake in while opening the bleeder screw. You can leave it open and just pump the lever.

Not worth the $

I hate to give this a bad review as Motion Pro makes excellent stuff. However, trying to use this on a stubborn front brake (2009 CRF 450R) is tough. The master cylinder piston only pushes the fluid a small amount making the bubbles go in and out of the caliper before it even reaches the one way check valve.

I spent about 45 minutes trying to bleed my front brake with this and had no success. A simple reverse bleed using a syringe from Tractor Supply Co ($4) worked much better than this did.

I believe this tool would work much better on a street bike that uses a much bigger master cylinder. However, I know some people have had great success with this tool on motocross bikes. For now, I will keep the valve in my tool box and hopefully find a good use for it.

This product works as advertised, I'm just not convinced that it's necessary after using it. I find that the master cylinder on my bike does not pull very much fluid back into the caliper with the bleeder left open even when I do not use this. As long as I've got a good seal on the bleeder and some fluid in the tube I can pump fairly quickly and get the same thing accomplished without drawing air into the system. Makes a lot more sense for something like a car or side by side where you can't reach the brake and the caliper at the same time.

Simple but useful

As simple as a tool as it gets but it's all it needs to be. I definitely wouldn't want to bleed or flush brakes without it.

Motion Brake Bleeder - works great

Exactly what I needed.

This enables you to bleed the brakes on your own so you don't end up with air back in the lines.

Q: How often do I need to bleed the brakes
Over 9 years ago
I have a crf250r and race. How often do I need to bleed the brakes? Also, what do I have to do to be able to bleed them. Thanks

A: You'll need to bleed your brakes after replacing the cable or fluid. Doesn't hurt to put new fluid in even after changing the pads, but how often you do it is it up to you. You'll need to loosen your bleeder valve on you caliper and fill the master cylinder up with fluid and then just keep pumping the fluid through and adding more fluid when needed until there is no bubbles left in the lines. If you leave air in your lines your breaks are going to be super spongey and not work properly.
