Best tire on the market

This tire literally changed the way my 2007 Yamaha v-star 1300. It’s like a whole new bike. The tires wear great and grip the road like no other tire. I’ve had Dunlop’s Bridgestone’s and those don’t even come close to comparing.

Horrible wear

Got a fresh set of commander 2s before going on a trip. 3800 miles later the right side of the rear tire was showing cords. Still waiting on my warranty tire. Been over a month. Gave two stars instead of one because it did handle very well in the rain.

A: Going from a 140/75 to a 170/80 is a big difference, you will need to measure your fender and swingarm to see if you can accommodate a tire that is 30mm (1.2 inches) wider and 5mm (0.2 inches) taller.

Q: Radial or Bias ply?
1 year 9 months ago
I'm needing 130/70R18 is it a radial or Bias? One site I looked at had radials but not in my size, this site doesn't specify if it's an R or a B. Can someone please help, thanks for your time.

A: That would depend on the size of tire selected. The load rating will vary depending on the tire. For more information and tire specs (load ratings) for the MICHELIN Commander II can be found here: http://motorcycle.michelinman.com/tires/michelin-commander-ii#dim

A: For clearance and handling we recommend that you run the stock size tires. From what I can find your 1981 FXWG came stock with a MT90-16 (130/90).

A: The Front Tire size for your bike in this combo would be a 130/90-16. The Rear Tire size would be a 140/90-16 but you may be able to go up to a 150/80-16 if you have enough clearance around your drive belt and swingarm area to fit a wider tire.
