Starting with the first of those four confusing terms, the wide trail tire construction optimizes the tread layout on wider rims, fitting 30-35mm inner rim widths. The second technology, DoubleDown, combines a butyl sidewall insert with a lightweight 120 TPI casing, creating a highly durable tire that gives more feedback from the trail. The DoubleDown combines with Maxxis' 3C MaxxGrip, a compound that creates a sticky and slow rebounding rubber that is great for enduro riding. This tubeless ready (TR) Assegai tire runs great on lower air pressures, improving traction, lowering rolling resistance, and lessening your chance of a mid-ride flat.
