I have had knee issues for years, but never really needed a brace until this year. hyper-extension of both knees skiing resulted in meniscus surgery. Purchased these braces to specifically prevent additional hyper-extensions. I was a little concerned as my knee measurements came in just above the MAX dimensions for a Large brace, but ordered the large anyways. When received, I added the 15 degree lockout shim and tried them on. They felt a little tight across the knee, but was willing to try for one ride. Extremely happy so far, when on the bike, I don't even know I have them on. And have protected me multiple times from hyperextension, really doing that job well. They are a bit cumbersome when walking around and make getting into riding pants a chore. The only beef is the "quick connect" snaps are a bear to disengage, so I don't use them and always feed the strap thru the slot to secure.

Bought these Leatt X-Frame Braces for my fiance for Christmas. By March they had ripped at the knee cover area. Motosport would not allow warranty from their end of any sort of compensation and had me contact Leatt. Leatt advised not under Warranty and would only allow a 35% discount on the purchase of a new. HIGHLY disappointed with the Leatt product quality/customer service and the Motosports desire to help and retain a valued customer who spend $449.99 on just this one product. DO NOT RECOMMEND PURCHASING!!
First time knee brace user. Getting old...sorry...Vet rider looking to avoid doctor bills and lost work. Thought these would be a huge help. Initially had an issue with sizing. Use knee circumference as the main measurement.(This is VERY important and straight from Leatt.) Knee width is measured across the knee cap, not above or below. I did not change the adjusters in the hinges. It's nice if that's what you want to do. Fit is great. Easy adjustment and they stay in place. No sliding down/around. They do not make my stance noticeably wider and its still easy to grip the bike. The knee sleeves that are supplied work great and stop my legs from getting wear/rub marks. No cuts or raw skin. There is comfort in knowing that I am doing the most I can to prevent an injury. Highly recommend to anyone looking for knee braces.
I'm sure these would be sturdy and protective braces, but the knee caps sit _really_ high. The chart says I need a Medium but M didn't sit down on my leg so I xchanged for Large. Those sit better, but the knee cup still sat a good 1.5" off my knee. I actually ended up sending the X back and trying some Z-frame which fit very, very well. Not as good of protection in the Z but not bad and far, far more comfortable for this 57 year old off-road rider.
For many years I've been riding motorcross and downhill mountain biking. Early on, I decided to purchase the Asterisk knee braces. Absolutely loved them. Very sleek and comfortable. After getting over 10 years of use out of them I needed a new pair but I decided to go qith a different pair because my funds at the time were limited. So , after reading and watching many reviews I purchased the Leat X frames! I was very impressed on the coverage, comfort, and they did not slide up or down after my first moto!! Once you get then adjusted they fit like a glove!!!
Comfortable and not bulky feeling
