I bought this for my daughter and it seems to have very good protection. We have only had it for a few weeks so we will have to see how well it holds up.

I've had multiple rides on this chest protector and love it's comfort. It's a bit heavy, but you don't feel it when riding. I crashed last weekend on my left shoulder and the protection was sufficient. It wasn't a heavy crash, but without the protector I would have been deeply bruised
This is so comfortable you don't realize your wearing it I ride in some hot weather at times and this breaths like no other I highly recomend
Looks good and doesn't get in the way on the trail or track. I used mine with and without a Leatt neck brace. The Leatt works well with this protector of course as it was made to be used with it. I am a bigger guy and it still offers decent side protection too.
Ordered it Quality is second to none. Fit was a challenge. 6 ft 215, 46" coat and just could not get it to fit. Spent 2 hours trying to get adjusted and it just is too small and the shoulders are not in the right place despite all the adjustments. If you are a bit smaller this might be perfect for you.
this protector was comfortable the first time i took it out.....no break in or discomfort. thanks leatt
I wore my son's Leatt 4.5 for a couple of rides and really liked it. It is an XXL and fit me very well. I am 6 feet tall and 220lbs. I wanted shoulder and bicep protection and that option only comes in the 5.5. I ordered the 5.5 and it just did not feel the same. I know it was brand new but it did not fit me like the 4.5 and I really did not feel like it eventually would. So I called up Motosport and exchanged it for the 4.5. Customer support was excellent. Got the 4.5. No arm protection but it fits very well and works for me.
When I bought my first bike at 32 I was definitely in the market for safety gear. This is a great choice, the fit is true I am 5'11" 180lbs and it fits really good. At first I thought the shoulder pads were bulky and took them off. Week later had a crash which I would have gone uninjured had the shoulder protection still been on. I think the roost pads are useless and awkward, so I took them off. You don't really know it's there after a few minutes. It is very comfortable and vents well, but as any vest type article, it does trap heat in, which is to be expected. If it is in your price range, buy it, you won't be disappointed.
The first thing I noticed when unpacking the 5.5 Pro Chest Protector was its weight. It is heavier than my previous protector. I was a little concerned but once I put it on, I noticed the mobility was WAY better than my old protector. It was a little warmer than my previous protector too.
Once I was riding, I only noticed the excellent freedom of movement and forgot about the weight. Worth noting is that the extra weight is from the excellent padding. It did a great job of doing its job, by protecting me from roost, rock, and tree branches.
