Over priced O'Neal Rider boot

Gaiter is way too big and the straps are the very same as the O'Neal Rider boot. I took these to a local store that sales O'Neal Riders and they look too much alike not to have come from the same plant. The plastic parts are different in shape but the buckles are the same. the sewing on the soles look like the same machine was used and the steel toe plates are the same all the way to the angle the screw are at when they were attached to the sole. And there is more plastic than leather I race ATV's and my Garene boots have a spot where when I go around a corner and am hanging off the side they have rubbed up against my exhaust pipe and melted. These boots have so much plastic in that area of the boot I am afraid they would melt so bad I couldn't use them again!!

But the two big problems is the size and the gaiter. I have entry level boots by Sidi, Garene, and Alpinestars (tech 3) and I wear a 11 in all others so I order these in 11 and they feel like about a 10.5. Very tight when I have summer sox on but I cannot use them with my cold weather socks.

As for the gaiter I put the boot on the way I do all the others with the Velcro pads lined up and I can slide my hand flat all the up to my wrist between the boot and my shin. I weigh 205 and an 6' tall so I am not really skinny!! I also wear knee braces so I put my gear on as if to go ridding thin socks, knee braces, Mx pants and tried them on as tight as I could get the gaiter I could still stick my hand flat between my gear and the front of the boot all the to the my thumb. I race cross country and do not need a pair of boots to fill up with water crossing a creek especially in cold races when the water is almost freezing. I will be returning these and exchange for something better.

Great boot

Just getting them broke in. They look just as good as the photo. Comfy too.

A: The size chart shows a size 8 as 10.0 inch foot length. So you should be good with a size 8.
