For accurate answers, we will need to know the model years of your F700GS and F800GS.
The original sprockets on the 2016 F700GS are 17-tooth in front and 42-tooth in the rear. The original sprockets on the 2016 F800GS are 16-tooth in front and 42-tooth in the rear; these are what BMW tested and found to be best for most riders in most conditions.
To improve torque and engine braking, you could change to either a larger rear sprocket or a smaller front sprocket, or both. Know that any changes made to improve torque will reduce horse power.

Question:Q: Does the 120 links chain replaces the OEM required 122 links lenght.Question asked 2 years 1 month agoMy motorcycle is a 2003 Honda VT750CD Shadow Deluxe American Clasic Edition.
Question answered by robertUser's contributor status: Top 10 ContributorQuestion answered 2 years 1 month agoAnswer: A: A 120 link chain would not replace the 122 oem length one. If your sprocket sizing is staying the same you would want to get a 122 link chain.
